Vaasa English Playschool uses language immersion methods in all activities and teaching. Playschool staff use only English in their communication with the children and with each other. The children use both Finnish and English in their communication.
Language immersion
The children learn the language through various activities: vocabulary is learned through rhymes, songs, games and play as well as craft, music and exercise within different themes related to child’s world. Children are encouraged to use English in daily routines. The children learn the language at their own pace, within their own capability.
Many children in the international group have good knowledge of English language, as the children start with us. Our aim is to support their language development furthermore and to provide overall support in settling to Finnish early childhood education.
